Spark Circus ... the low down!

SPARK! is a group of spectacular international volunteer circus performers who come together to bring joy to groups of disadvantaged children in refugee camps, migrant schools, hospitals and orphanages along the Thai Burmese border.

We reach over 4,000 children each year with our circus-style fire show, playshops and donations of toys, art supplies, and creative tools. Our goal is to lighten their days with magic, wonder, laughter and smiles. SPARK! is completely volunteer based, and relies entirely on your generous donations and community support .

This Year Fleassy and Googley Swan will be joining the Spark Circus family and they are looking for YOUR help to make it happen....

Spark Circus is completely volunteer funded and each participant has a personal fund raising goal to achieve. Luckily for us; Googley Swan and myself are sharing our fund raising so if you would like to help either of us make this possible then you can donate through the pay pal link to the right.

But what are the donations FOR?!?! i hear you cry.... well...

- A large portion of the donations are used for circus props and other miscellaneous toys that are given to schools, orphanages, and hospitals throughout the region. With every place we visit we leave a donation of toys and gifts for the children to continue their inspiration long after the circus has left town.
- Some basic necessities, such as clothing and meals, are also included for the children. In some instances, we provide transportation to and from our performances and workshops as well.
- A portion of the proceeds will be used for our own transportation and miscellaneous circus expenses, such as fuel for fire performances, and some costume materials.

Our Story...

In January and February 2012 Googley Swan and myself (Fleassy) will be joining a group of young bright flames on a mission to spread joy, laughter, playfulness and colour to people who need that little reminder of how beautiful the world can be. We will join the rest of the SPARK Circus family; coming together from all across the globe and traveling up to the border of Thailand and Myanmar (Burma). There are over 250,000 people who have fled opression, war and poverty in Burma to the refugee camps, however once there they are prevented from leaving and entering Thailand. Here armed with nothing but our red noses, hula hoops, juggling clubs, instruments and colourful ribbons we will spreads the seeds of laughter into the hearts of thousands of children living in the refugee camps.

Googley Swan and I left the UK just over a year ago on and adventure to see if We could reach New Zealand without an aeroplane, We crossed Europe, Siberia, Japan, China, and South East Asia with a minimal budget and a desire to embrace every opportunity we could. Boats, trains, busses, hitch hiking rides, motorbikes and many many helpful hearts took us across the world, into their homes and up to their dinner tables, rekindling our faith in human kind. We documented out travels in a series of videos staring Googley Swan herself and all her friends she has made along the way.

Now we begin the adventure of fundraising money for this beautiful stage of our adventure. The fundraising money will go directly into the project and pay for Childrens Toys, Circus Equipment and food for the teachers and kids.
